CUNY Admissions Advisor in Bronx, New York


Lehman College seeks an Admissions Advisor. Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Admissions, the Advisor:

  • Visits metropolitan and suburban area high schools, colleges, and community agencies that constitute the College's feeder and/or potential feeder institutions for field recruitment, enrollment, and conversion events.

  • Supports the Admissions Office by covering the Admissions counter; provides pre-admissions and one-to-one admissions counseling for in-house applicants as well as telephone counseling.

  • Assists with on-campus recruitment events such as conferences for high school college advisors, open houses, campus tours, borough-wide college fairs, and similar admissions recruitment events/college fairs hosted by Lehman.

  • Represents Admissions on Lehman and CUNY committees concerned with recruitment when requested by the supervisor.

  • Provides critical support in the planning, development and supervision of daily operations of the Admissions Call Center.

  • Implements and reviews call center standards, policies, objectives, and initiatives.

  • Coordinates and communicates between various Admissions and Enrollment Management areas to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Call Center.

  • Collaborates with the Deputy Director and Associate Director of Admissions in admissions communications, especially during the direct admission cycle and registration peak periods.

  • Admits students directly to the college when the University Application Processing Center is no longer admitting students in person or through the virtual direct process. Evaluates academic credentials in order to make a determination.

  • Provides critical support in the creation and management of appropriate attributes, filters and communications for electronic undergraduate communications via Hobsons CRM product.

Evening and weekend work required.


Bachelor's Degree required. One year of experience in college-level enrollment management area preferred.


Coordinates and contributes to student recruiting activities.

  • Conducts open house sessions and orientations to ensure applicants are fully informed of requirements and processes

  • Assists in direct recruiting at high schools, community outreach events, and other appropriate locations

  • Provides general information on programs and services in person or by telephone, email, or letter

  • Maintains current information about College programs and degree requirements

  • Performs related duties as assigned
