CUNY Student Disability Services Manager - Student Development in Bronx, New York


Bronx Community College seeks a Student Disability Services Manager to join the Division of Academic Affairs and Student Success. Reporting to the Dean of Academic Services, the Student Disability Services Manager responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the Office of Disability Services and its programs. S/he will work as a liaison with faculty and staff, overseeing the office by providing service information, resolving classroom management concerns and accommodations, and facilitating faculty awareness and training for the same.

  • Assist the target population by working closely with on-campus and community resources, and collaborate extensively with the other units of Student Development. S/he will be responsible for directing student services with local and state disability service providers.

  • Maintain up-to-date information on effective services and implement exemplary practices, developing initiatives and programs to enhance existing services. This includes an assessment of operation effectiveness according to ADA guidelines and marketing the unit and its services to encourage usage.

  • Ensure that Office of Disability Services provides assistive technology to the campus community. Supervise, train, and support assistive technology staff who work with assistive technology and students with disabilities.

  • Manage the budget for the unit.

  • Serve on College and University committees related to accessibility, advocacy and accommodations and ensure that the Office meets all reporting requirements.


Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.


Develops, and manages delivery of, services to students with special needs.

  • Oversees daily office operations and provides training and supervision to staff

  • Directs one or more distinct programs in support of the unit in an area of expertise, developing plans, providing services, and managing facilities and equipment

  • Collects and analyzes relevant program and outcomes data, (tracking usage, satisfaction with initiatives, and impact on student retention and success

  • Develops programs to ensure inclusiveness as well as compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies

  • Prepares reports and develops other communications including publications, workshops, and web site materials

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
