CUNY Assistant Professor - Accounting (2 Tenure-Track Positions) in Brooklyn, New York


The Department of Accounting, housed in the Murray Koppelman School of Business at Brooklyn College, is inviting applications for two full-time tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor with a starting date of August 2017. The successful candidate will have prior experience teaching accounting courses primarily at the undergraduate level, although there may be opportunities to teach at the graduate level. This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service. Teaching assignments are dependent on the background and expertise of individual faculty member and the needs of the department. Faculty members are expected to fulfill service obligations, and publish in refereed journals. Doctorate in accounting or a related field. If the doctorate is in a discipline other than accounting, candidates must have published extensively in accounting-related journals. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered; however, the doctorate must be completed within one year of the appointment date. Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate accounting courses is required. Evidence of publications in refereed accounting-related journals, or potential thereof, is required.

Preference will be given to candidates with a doctorate from an AACSB-accredited program and a strong research record. Evidence of superior teaching is highly desirable. Industry management experience is valued.


Salary commensurate with experience and credentials. All appointments are subject to financial availability.
