CUNY Assistant Professor - Computer Science (Tenure-Track) in Brooklyn, New York
FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Computer and Information Science (CIS) at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY), is seeking to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level for appointment beginning in the Fall of 2017. Our Department has 26 full time faculty and offers B.S. and M.S. degrees and a Ph.D. degree in conjunction with the CUNY Graduate Center. We are supporting a dynamic and growing program with over 500 undergraduate majors, over 200 Master’s students and over 20 affiliated doctoral students of the CUNY Graduate Center. Several major research projects are currently underway in the Department.
The successful candidate will be required: to teach introductory and advanced undergraduate and/or graduate courses in computer science; to conduct research in the field; and to seek grant funding. Expertise in operating systems, architecture, security, and programming preferred. He or she should have a broad knowledge of computer science and should have good teaching skills. The individual selected will also help develop curricula for the department.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D in Computer Science
Strong research record, and preferably experience in obtaining external grant funding.
