CUNY Associate or Full Professor - Exercise Science / Anatomy and Physiology(Tenure-Track) in Brooklyn, New York

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Brooklyn College of the City University of New York invites applications for a full-time tenure track Associate or Full Professor position in the Department of Kinesiology with expertise in anatomy and physiology, exercise science, and related areas. Responsibilities include teaching courses in anatomy and physiology, exercise science, as well as other expertise areas; assisting with the development of new courses; developing and maintaining a funded research agenda; and research mentoring.

The Kinesiology Department is an interdisciplinary department with distinct degree programs in exercise science, teacher education and sport management and an ongoing interest in pursuing linkages between them. It is our mission to provide high quality, multidisciplinary teaching, research, and community service to foster an environment of academic excellence and professionalism for students and faculty; advance scientific knowledge and ensure that its diverse students acquire the knowledge, skills, and values to make meaningful contributions. We offer graduate and undergraduate programs in exercise science and teacher education and a graduate program in sport management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Successful candidates must possess:

  • An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in exercise science, kinesiology or a closely related field

  • Teaching experience with a diverse student population

  • Two or more years of work experience in wellness, sport or clinical exercise physiology settings

  • The ability to establish an independent research agenda and seek external funding

It is also desired that candidates have:

  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., NSCA, CSCS)

  • Experience working with children and young adults

COMPENSATION

Salary commensurate with education and experience. All appointments are subject to financial availability.
