CUNY Executive Director of Enrollment Management in Brooklyn, New York
Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York is seeking an experienced admissions and enrollment professional to serve as the Executive Director of Enrollment Management. He/she will report to the Senior Vice President /COO and work closely with the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs . The Executive Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of programs and services to improve student enrollment and retention.
The Executive Director is responsible for the strategic planning, and management and administration of student enrollment and retention policies and strategies, including direct oversight,assessment of programs, personnel,and the budgets of services provided by Admissions, and International Student Advisement . S/he will develop strategies designed to increase enrollment (recruitment, conversion, retention,and persistence) of new,transfer, and continuing students. The Executive Director will work in collaboration with the Provost and the Dean for Student Affairs to coordinate recruitment, conversion, and orientation activities. S/he will also work to develop an expanded recruitment outreach program that will include efforts aimed at increasing enrollments from previously underserved markets (e.g., out of state/city and international students from targeted areas). S/he will be responsible for overseeing the use and implementation of various systems to communicate with students including Hobson's Connect, Hobson's Retain, Grades First, and other enrollment customer relations management (CRM) software.
The successful candidate's duties will include but are not limited to:
Develop and implement a comprehensive and integrated enrollment management plan to build on the College's current enrollment successes, positioning the College to achieve future enrollment and retention goals.
Oversee the development and implementation of enrollment (recruitment and retention) strategies.
Provide strong effective leadership and creative vision for the development, modification, implementation, and monitoring of the policies, plans, and procedures for strategic recruitment, including expanded admissions outreach, enrollment, and retention of a diverse, multi-cultural student body.
Serve as the chairperson of the Enrollment Management Council, and as a member of the Academic Council.
Direct oversight of the Office of Admissions & Scholarships.
Work closely with the Office of Communications & Marketing to develop innovative and effective communication and marketing strategies to attract students to the College.
Work closely with the development and external relations divisions to increase scholarship opportunities for new, transfer, and continuing students.
Develop both short-term and long-term plans for the areas under his/her direct supervision to successfully achieve University, College, and Division goals and objectives .
Direct Hobson's initiatives to ensure cross campus collaboration in enrollment and retention efforts.
Collaborate with academic departments, college divisions, and external organizations on strengthening the college's recruitment and retention efforts and raise positive brand awareness.
Develop measurable enrollment and retention goals including metrics for each new entering class.
Provide enrollment data on a regular basis to college administration.
Evaluate college admissions criteria and processes and make data-based recommendations for revisions as necessary to improve enrollment and retention.
Oversee enrollment events such as enrollment calendar and cancellations in consultation with enrollment management leadership. Collaborate with the Dean of Student Affairs to coordinate orientation activities for new students.
Evaluate and prepare reports and assume other related duties as assigned by the SVP/COO.
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
The candidate for this senior-level position should have a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in management and administration of student enrollment . The candidate should have experience in retention policies and strategies, competence with technology supporting recruitment and retention, and have had direct oversight over at least one Enrollment Management office, preferably Admissions .
