Stella and Charles Guttman Community College at CUNY is currently seeking Adjunct Faculty to teach a variety of courses in Business Administration, Human Services, Information Technology, and Urban Studies during the Fall 2 session (Period: January 4 - February 27, 2017) and the Spring 1 Session (Period: March 5 - June 14, 2017).

Some of the available courses include, but are not limited to: Basic Reading/Writing Business Law & Ethics Environmental Ethics Ethnicity & Community Development Ethnographies of Work History of Urban Life Introduction to Urban Planning and Policy Java Programming Quantitative Reasoning Statistics Race, Sexuality and Gender in Urban Life Urban Community Health

Adjunct faculty perform teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. They share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.


For Adjunct Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor: Ph.D. degree in area(s) of expertise or equivalent.

For Adjunct Lecturer: Bachelor’s degree in area(s) of expertise; Master’s degree in area of expertise preferred.

For all ranks: Candidates with previous experience teaching in higher education, and familiarity with ePortfolio and Starfish or comparable pedagogies and technologies are preferred.


Adjunct Lecturer: $64.84 - $80.70/hr* Adjunct Assistant Professor: $73.53 - $87.29/hr* Adjunct Associate Professor: $79.29 - $97.16/hr* Adjunct Professor: $87.94 - $107.04/hr*

Commensurate with qualifications and experience. *Salary subject to the new contract implementation.
