CUNY Administrative Executive Associate - Colin Powell School in New York, New York
The Dean of the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership administers a division of 3000 students and more than 100 full-time faculty including departments of: Anthropology, Gender Studies and International Studies; Economics and Business; Political Science; Psychology; and Sociology. The school, located in historic Harlem at the City College of New York, promotes the values of service, engagement, and leadership, enabling our students to energetically address the challenges of the 21st century.
Reporting to the Dean, the Administrative Executive Associate supports and manages projects, initiatives, and activities of the Dean, including but not limited to:
Implement and track financial plan for the school as well as participate in ongoing business management projects; prepare departmental budget and expense reports.
Review financial activities with department chairs and staff throughout the year and assist departments with procurement and hiring.
Oversee reporting activities, analyze information, and assist with strategic planning, business process optimization, and technology initiatives to enhance the school's administrative effectiveness and goals.
Communicate with other college segments, CUNY, students, faculty, staff, alumni, board members, donor organizations, and external organizations on behalf of the Dean.
Provide confidential and administrative support to the Dean, including managing the Dean’s complex calendar and prioritizing issues.
Ensure record management compliance for the school in collaboration with the department heads.
Maintain and update content on school and department web pages.
Serve as member of various college committees and contribute to team effort.
Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage projects independently
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Proficient in full Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel
Experience with website tools preferred
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Supports a Campus or University Executive in a variety of activities and initiatives as a key team member.
Organizes and manages projects involving different areas of the Campus or University community, with responsibility for project outcomes.
Represents the Executive's unit in Campus or University-wide activities, including committees, special initiatives, and implementation of new processes or technology.
Independently carries out a portfolio of responsibilities under the Executive's purview, such as approvals, student interactions, and monitoring of key activities. Manages communications within and outside the unit related to areas of responsibility.
May serve as Manager of a large Executive Office.
Performs related duties as assigned.
