Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration will be responsible for the following duties in addition to the responsibilities listed in the CUNY Title Overview:

  • Researches and responds to complex questions related to administration, finance, and external relations as well as other strategic college issues.

  • Develop more efficient ways of enhancing staff productivity and establish controls to ensure deliverables are completed consistently.

  • Conduct various research and analyses to enhance processes and improve flow of operations.

  • Serves as the Vice President lead on various committees or tasks force.

  • Represents the Vice President at meetings with College leadership and other College events.

  • Responsible for the management of special events, organize and launch programs on behalf of the College.

  • Exercise independent judgement in directing and overseeing all aspects of special projects and administrative initiatives.

  • Serve as liaison to Vice President’s office in working to enhance cohesion between various departments within the division and campus initiatives.

  • Delegate work load to division office staff and manage the trafficking of work of five department’s reporting to the Vice President.

  • Oversee inter-department college communication and external community relations.

  • Manages and prepares high-level correspondence and communicates information on behalf of the Vice President.

  • Prepare presentations for Vice President on various topics.

  • Oversee successful completion of departmental priorities and project deadlines.

  • May supervise or coordinate new projects and ensure they meet the requirements and proceed on schedule.

  • Tracks and reports these priorities and objectives for the Vice President; works with senior staff at the College to determine status and help ensure objectives are achieved.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

As a senior staff member in a Campus or University Executive's office, leads unit initiatives, participates in planning and setting priorities, and drives strategic initiatives to ensure their success.

  • Participates in planning and in setting policies with responsibility for preparing aspects of strategic and operational plans. Participates in developing and executing performance management systems to evaluate progress.

  • Works with other Campus and University units to oversee complex, high-priority projects, with responsibility for outcomes.

  • Represents the Executive in Campus or University-wide activities and may act in his/her place when required.

  • Independently carries out major responsibilities under the Executive's purview, such as monitoring and evaluating unit activities, financial planning and review, serving as chair of key committees, and communications with senior Campus or University management.

  • May serve as Chief of Staff of a large Executive Office.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
