CUNY Assistant Dean of Administration (School of Social Work) in New York, New York
The Assistant Dean working with the Dean of the School of Social Work, will have primary responsibility for budgets, planning, facilities and the administration of faculty and staff.
FACILITIES: The position will directly oversee, in conjunction with the AVP of facilities, all facility issues including the construction, renovation and maintenance of the site. Furthermore, the Assistant Dean will be responsible for optimizing space utilization through external rentals.
BUDGET: The position will plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate, and direct the School of Social Work’s budget formulation, analysis, and management activities. The Assistant Dean will generate and organize institutional data on space utilization to support allocation of resources and facilitates. Routinely maintain budgets and plan appropriate use of all School of Social Work funding sources to develop and implement non- credit revenue sources. The Assistant Dean will formulate, prepare, and oversee financial planning and the budgeting process for the School of Social Work. The position will be responsible for financial reporting, preparation of financial statements, statistical reports, and funding determinations. The position will also develop projections of revenue and expenditures and construct alternative financial models for use in financial planning.
PERSONNEL: The Assistant Dean will assist the Dean in overseeing all hiring of new faculty, reappointments for faculty and staff for the School of Social Work. In addition, responsibilities include planning and budgeting for all personnel who serve as adjunct staff and temporary staff.
PLANNING: The Assistant Dean will review -enrollment data with a view to managing course offerings for students in order to facilitate progress toward graduation, a higher level of retention of students, offerings for Continuing Education.
OPERATIONS: The position will provide support for other programs within the building, including Centro, and the Brookdale Center for Aging. The position will also liaison and work jointly with Public Safety on Security initiatives in order to ensure the safety and security of the campus. The Assistant Dean, in conjunction with ICIT, will oversee all aspects of technology at the Silberman campus.
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
