CUNY Assistant Revenue Manager in New York, New York
Stella and Charles Guttman Community College is seeking to fill a position for an Assistant Revenue Manager (HE Assistant) in the Business Office. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Financial and Business Services, the Assistant Revenue Manager will assist in overseeing the tax-levy accounting operations for all revenue at the College and the financial activities of related entities. The Assistant Revenue Manager will also assume responsibilities for preparing, reconciling, and issuing reports for tuition fees, assist in preparing, monitoring and analyzing related entities' budgets and expenses, and will perform monthly reconciliations and reforecast, as needed.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Ensures that all Governmental Accounting Standards Board and Financial Accounting Standards Board rules and procedures are observed with regard to transaction processing, recording, and reporting.
Posts journal entries and adjustments for tuition and fees in requisite accounting systems.
Reconciles all student account balances and general ledger interfaces from the CUNYfirst Student Financials Module.
Assists with internal control audits.
Prepares, disseminates and presents operating reports, financial statements and financial analyses for management and various stakeholders.
Liaises and works closely with the Bursar Office to monitor accounts receivable collection and deposit activities for tuition and fees, and assists in the assessment and implementation of internal controls as they relate to the collection of funds.
Tracks and maintains financial data to perform regular updates to forecasts.
Ensures compliance with established internal control policies and procedures for revenue and accounting.
Serves as the liaison to external auditors, program directors and external funding agencies.
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
At least three years in a higher education and/or a not-for-profit or government agency setting
Experience using online ledger, financial systems and databases, specifically PeopleSoft financials
Internal control audit experience
Experience and proficiency in preparing financial statements, forecasting and budgeting revenue
Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel (Pivot table, V-Lookup, Macro and Formula functions)
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple priorities
