FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College invites nominations and applications for appointment as an associate or full professor of nonprofit management. The position has tenure or accelerated tenure-track status, depending on qualifications. The areas of research and teaching expertise within the nonprofit sub-field are open.
The successful candidate will have a strong record of scholarship in an area of nonprofit management that merits appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The search committee will consider candidates who have made their careers in the academy as well as those who have worked at senior levels of government, nonprofit organizations, and policy research institutions.
Faculty are expected to share responsibility for committee assignments, provide advice to students in the nonprofit management concentration within the MPA program, and collaborate with the School’s Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management. The candidate will also have the opportunity to teach courses in School’s new Master of Science in International Affairs.
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Candidates with professional or practical nonprofit management experience are encouraged to apply. Experience or interest in teaching hybrid or online courses is highly desirable. Additional experience in or a commitment to teaching courses in public sector management is highly-desirable.
