The Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) is an integral part of City University of New York system with the largest college enrollment in the system of over 25,000 students. It is strategically located in downtown Manhattan in close proximity to the artistic communities of Tribeca and SoHo, the dynamic downtown financial district, and the center of New York City government at City Hall.
The Department of Science at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) invites applications for a College Laboratory Technician (CLT) in Biology starting Fall 2017.
Set up experiments for all biology and life science courses. Maintain equipment in working order including repairs. CLT may be required to set up and maintain laboratories for chemistry, physics and astronomy courses to cover for absences and other needs from CLTs in those disciplines. Maintain inventories of supplies and equipment. Prepare orders for supplies and equipment for laboratories and other related purposes. Attend departmental meetings. Comply with all laboratory safety requirements. Other tasks appropriate for College Laboratory Technician as assigned. Working schedule can include mornings, evenings and weekends.
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or a closely related field is preferred.
Salary $40,627 - $60,561
