CUNY CUNY Admissions Technical Lead in New York, New York


The Division of Enrollment Management, in collaboration with CUNY’s 24 colleges, designs and manages University-wide strategies, priorities, and policies pertaining to student enrollment. The University offices covered under this division are the CUNY Welcome Center, University Application Processing Center, Student Financial Aid, and the University Registrar.

Applications are currently welcome for a CUNY Admissions Technical Coordinator to assist in the creation and rollout of the PeopleSoft product, and ensure it will be deliverable for the University and its encompassing colleges from an admissions perspective. He or she will serve as a technical resource to the campuses during the testing and implementation of enhanced software, while spearheading application maintenance, decision engine optimization, and report writing among other field-specific skills.

The CUNY Admissions Technical Coordinator possesses the expertise in SQL, query writing, and varying reporting instances, combined with enrollment subject matter expertise to recommend best practices to a unique multi-college/university admissions process. The technical coordinator must marry the existing legacy practices, and help design new processes that work for efficiency and better functionality while working with the already functioning areas of Financial Aid and Student Records.


Bachelor's Degree required.

The successful candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and professional attributes:

  • Experience using PeopleSoft to develop ERP systems, including involvement with applications for admission to institutions of higher education

  • Knowledge of a multi-college/university system

  • Strong analytical and evaluative skills

  • Ability to work well both individually and collaboratively

  • A strong work ethic to complete tasks in a timely manner

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to be flexible and work well in a fast paced, dynamic and responsive office with evolving priorities

  • Ability to understand technical terminology and disseminate this information to groups with limited technical knowledge

  • Proficiency in People Tools, People Code, and App Designer and AAWS

  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft databases, tables, reports, and communications tools i.e. Hobsons

  • Knowledge of SQL and/or PS Query for reporting functions in student records, admissions and financial aid module

  • Perform related duties as assigned


Provides support to students and faculty in the use of instructional systems, software, and programs.

  • Researches and prepares program materials, FAQs, and user guides

  • Provides telephone and/or email support for faculty and student users of instructional systems, software, and programs

  • Develops training materials and delivers orientation/training sessions

  • Maintains on-line information on web sites

  • Acts as liaison to related areas such as CUNY's Computer and Information Services area, to evaluate and escalate reported problems, and disseminate information notices

  • Assists faculty with use of instructional technology to support educational goals

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
