The Department of Economics at Hunter College, City University of New York ( seeks to hire a tenure-track or tenured faculty member (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) in Economics with teaching, research, and service responsibilities. The faculty member will be expected to conduct research in broadly defined public policy areas of economics (macroeconomic or microeconomic focus) and support programs at the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute (

Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.


Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent required. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. The successful candidate will have an established publication record, enthusiasm for research, teaching and service in both a disciplinary economics department and a multidisciplinary public-policy environment, and interest in engagement with the wider community.
