CUNY Marketing/Outreach Liaison in New York, New York

POSITION DETAILS

The Borough of Manhattan Community College with its strong coalition of an industry-business-community partner is seeking for a Marketing and Outreach Liaison. The incumbent will be responsible to market products by developing and implementing marketing and advertising campaigns; tracking sales data; maintain inventory of all promotional materials; prepare miscellaneous reports as needed.

Reporting to the Dean and Director of Continuing Education the Marketing/Outreach Liaison will be responsible for all outreach and marketing/advertising activities to increase awareness of the Continuing Education programs.

Marketing Liaison

  • Responsible for the submission of Summer/Fall and Winter/Spring catalogs; liaise with program managers to compile the information;

  • Work with different vendors for the designing aspect of the catalogs; obtain lowest bids; collaborate with the purchasing department to create, follow-up on open or approved Purchased Orders (PO);

  • Work with different contractors while also complying with the overall rules and regulations of the main campus;

  • Oversee all advertising activities and ensure advertising spending is within budget guidelines provided by administration;

  • Create and monitor the advertising budgets by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts;

  • Drives revenue growth and profitability by utilizing advanced targeting and market segmentation methodologies;

  • Increase awareness of the organization by participating in different events;

  • Research competitive products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising; maintain research databases;

  • Manage day-to-day relationship with designated Public Affairs;

  • Monitor editorial placements and brand advertisements monthly and report findings to administration and staffs;

  • Develop monthly updates of pricing sheets, data sheets and keep an update about price changes;

  • Manage marketing newsletters and use latest technology for achieving a greater audience;

  • Coordinate with Public Affairs to facilitate product photo shoots, and/or events showing product;

  • Review, approve and carry out local advertising plans as well as review and approve invoices and process advertising claims;

  • Prepare marketing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales data;

  • Create invoices for dealers for their media and/or production costs;

  • Order and confirm placements and advertising material from production houses (Metro Newspaper, AMNY, Time Warner online and TV commercials, Staten Island Ferry etc.);

  • Analyze respond rates from advertisement;

  • Establish contacts; develop schedules and assignments; coordinate mailing lists;

  • Keep promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with graphics department; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt;

  • Work with the project team to develop marketing material, presentations, and project website to promote and disseminate information through print, digital, and social media; and

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Outreach Liaison

  • Conduct site visits and Open House meetings with community partners; assist the PI/Project Director to develop industry/business partnerships to recruit and place program graduates.

  • Provide career exploration workshops and use career mapping tools to help students prepare for careers in manufacturing to ensure that the project goals and the expected job placement outcomes are met.

  • Collect and report recruitment/placement data to demonstrate impact and to generate quality progress reports on a monthly basis.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.

  • B.A. in marketing, business or organizational development a plus.

  • Experience in workforce development and/or higher education setting.

  • Two to four years of Marketing/Outreach experience.
