Queensborough Community College invites applications for the position of Director of Admissions. The College seeks an experienced and goal driven individual to lead a progressive Admissions team. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions provides vision, leadership and oversees all of the day to day functions of the Office of Admissions. In addition to the functions listed in the CUNY Title Overview, and working closely with the Enrollment Management Team, the Director will conceptualize and implement a recruitment plan that is data-driven, focused on strategic initiatives, and advances the mission and goals of the College. The Director of Admissions will hire, train and supervise all admissions staff and model service excellence for the admissions team. The Director will manage and refine key areas of focus including communication plans, prospective student and counselor relationship cultivation, recruitment territories, and campus events. This position requires some evening and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.

The following qualifications are strongly preferred:

  • Experience using data and technology to design recruitment plans that meet targeted enrollment goals

  • Experience planning on-campus special events and targeted outreach campaigns to constituencies

  • Knowledge of College admissions trends and NYC, Long Island high school and transfer markets

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with key constituencies, in order to meet enrollment goals

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Hobsons CRM

  • Higher Education managerial experience

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Develops, implements, and manages one or more major admissions and recruiting functions.

  • Manages overall recruitment and admissions processes

  • Develops recruiting strategies for the College and/or specific programs or groups and works closely with academic departments, programs, and administrators to coordinate marketing and recruiting

  • Manages the development and distribution of recruiting materials and communications of all kinds

  • Manages admissions operations and staff, including coordination with outside organizations and University administration

  • Oversees department budget including developing detailed proposals to support recruitment and admissions

  • Evaluates and reports outcomes; uses information in statistical, fiscal, and other reports to make improvements to the recruiting process

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
