GENERAL DUTIES

Performs highly-skilled laboratory functions and other technical duties in support of coursework.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The Theater discipline, one of five disciplines within the Performing and Fine Arts Department, is seeking a full-time College Laboratory Technician (CLT). Reporting to the Theater Arts Coordinator, with additional oversight from the P&FA; Department Chair, the CLT will, in addition to the CUNY Title Overview, be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Supervise and provide basic instruction of student crews associated with the Theater Program

  • Supervise scenery production, support needs of faculty and students for production sets

  • assist with the coordination and scheduling of student construction planning alongside faculty.

  • Support the running of technical rehearsals for student-run productions

  • Oversight of safety requirements and standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.

COMPENSATION

Compensation for this position is commensurate with education and experience.
