CUNY Enrollment Registrar Coordinator (Office of the Registrar: York College/CUNY) in Queens, New York

POSITION DETAILS

The Office of the Registrar is the official source for all student academic records at York College. It handles all registration services for students enrolled in the undergraduate program.

The Registrar Coordinator will advise students of academic and administrative requirements for registration and assist students in resolving problems that delay or impede registration. The Coordinator will also provide individual support to prospective and currently enrolled students in all records-related areas. This position reports to an Associate Registrar.

The duties and responsibility of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Compile, generate and maintain statistical reports and surveys that contain enrollment information.

  • Assist in updating CUNYfirst Student Records and management of duplicate student records.

  • Assist in maintaining Pathways requirements in CUNYfirst.

  • Ensure conformity of student record release procedures governing the confidentiality of records, including the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

  • Review and approve applicants for permit course(s) at another institution.

  • Review and process readmit students' application.

  • Oversee transmission of data to the National Student Clearinghouse.

  • Analyze and resolve student issues as they relate to student records and registration matters.

  • Monitor and update the content of the Registrar's Office web pages; create and update forms including online forms for the Registrar's Office to ensure the technology that supports office operations is effective and efficient.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's Degree required. Candidates with experience in higher education administration or technology management, preferably in a Registrar's Office, are preferred.

Additionally, the ability to effectively collaborate with college departments and cross-functional teams, knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, and some proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Word and Excel are highly desirable skills.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment and will have a commitment to working with a culturally and ethnically diverse student population. Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are also preferred.

  • May monitor and revise the content of web pages and other communication materials

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
