CUNY EOC Business Affairs Director (Queens EOC: York College/CUNY) in Queens, New York

POSITION DETAILS

The Director of Business Affairs plans and executes policies and procedures compatible with sound business practice and academic objectives to include the administering of all fiscal and supportive functions of the Queens Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) at York College. York is located in Jamaica, Queens, New York.

This position reports to the Executive Director of the EOC and has several areas of responsibility including:

  • Serving as Center's Chief Fiscal Officer.

  • Supervising the Business Office which includes accounting, payroll, purchasing and personnel.

  • Directing the preparation and control of the budget, and supervising fiscal operations.

  • Supervision of the operation and maintenance of physical facilities.

  • Supervision of office services, security, transportation and clerical operations.

  • Representing the Center in negotiations with labor unions.

  • Representing the Center in hiring, evaluation and dismissal of non-instructional staff.

  • Developing and administrating personnel policies according to guidelines set by the State University of New York (SUNY) and York College/CUNY.

  • Maintaining close liaison with SUNY University Center for Academic & Workforce, Development staff, SUNY Business Office, and York College's Business Office, Human Resources, and Office of the Vice President of Administrative Affairs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience required; Master's degree in Finance, Business Management or Administration is preferred.

Oversees the financial and administrative operations of an Educational Opportunity Center (EOC).

  • Administers the financial operations of the EOC in a fiscally responsible manner and complies with various legal regulations and University policies

  • Develops financial forecasting models to support strategic planning aligned with goals and initiatives

  • Manages the EOC's business analyses, budget projections, allocations, financial planning and statements, procurement, and facility operations

  • Develops and manages relationships in regard to fiduciary responsibilities with external institutions, including government agencies, corporations, and funding entities

  • Serves as a member of the senior leadership team of the EOC, both internally and in outside forums

Performs related duties as assigned.
