CUNY Finance Budget Director - Business Office in Queens, New York
Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance & Business, the Budget Director directs all of the day-to-day activities and supervising full-time staff members. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develops and maintains the College's annual financial plan, and performs the highest level analysis and projections of the overall college's finances;
Directs budget office staff to ensure adherence to established financial plans, perform periodic reviews and variance analyses;
Oversees development, testing, training and implementation of CUNYfirst Planning & Budgeting;
Ensures accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial statements.
Oversees the monitoring and maintenance of personnel transactions for annual budget needs and position tracking purposes.
Ensures that the accounting and financial reporting functions for the Tax Levy operations are monitored, maintained, and reconciled within multiple internal and external financial systems.
Oversees all CUNYfirst projects related to Budget, Payroll and Human Resources;
Conducts regular meetings with division and departmental directors and liaisons to review the finances of their areas.
Prepares and analyzes financial data from multiple sources and is responsible for the college's "All Funds" budget and financial reports.
Works closely with Directors of Purchasing and Accounts Payable to ensure appropriate coding, encumbrance and liquidation of non-personnel related expenditures.
Acts as a liaison between the college and CUNY Central, respond to all inquiries from the University Budget Office (UBO) and Office of the University Controller (OUC) on financial matters;

Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree.
Strong analytical, organizational , communication and computer skills.
Ability to work on multiple project and meet various deadlines.
Knowledge of University practices and procedures preferred.
