FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Chemistry, Earth Sciences and Environmental Sciences at Bronx Community College of the City University of New York invites applications for Adjunct Lecturer/Adjunct Assistant Professor positions in Earth and Environmental Science. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching the department courses in Environmental Science (ENV11). They may also be called upon to teach Earth Science (Geology, Meteorology and Oceanography), Geospatial Technology and the department's Chemistry in Everyday Life (CHM13) course. The successful candidates should be experienced in teaching in both in-person and in CUNY-approved distance learning modes of instruction. They will be required to incorporate experiential learning activities (in-person and virtual) in their courses and may be assigned evening, weekend and distance learning classes, as needed by the department.
For Adjunct Lecturer:
Bachelor’s degree in degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Science (Geology, Meteorology, Oceanography, Geomorphology, Geography, etc.), or a closely related field.
A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Science (Geology, Meteorology, Oceanography, Geomorphology, Geography, etc.), or a closely related field
For Adjunct Assistant Professor:
Ph.d. degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Science (Geology, Meteorology, Oceanography, Geomorphology, Geography, etc.), or a closely related field.
Required for all titles is the ability to teach successfully to at risk students in an urban environment, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the department, college and university.
