CUNY Assistant Professor - Behavioral and Social Sciences in Bronx, New York

The Behavioral and Social Sciences Department invites applications for one tenure track Assistant Professor position to teach undergraduate level psychology courses. We seek candidates specializing in at least one of the following areas: developmental, educational, community, health, clinical or social psychology. Only candidates with a Ph.D in Psychology will be considered.

In addition to teaching, the selected candidate will share responsibility for college-wide and departmental assignments, develop new curriculum and interdisciplinary programmatic initiates as well as participate in department planning and evaluation activities.


Ph.D degree in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent as noted below. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology from an A.P.A accredited institution

  • Record of scholarly activity and evidence of at least two years of effective teaching experience

  • Highly motivated to teach in a diverse multicultural urban college

  • Availability to work evening and weekend hours

  • Bilingual skills is advantageous


Salary commensurate with education and experience.
