POSITION DETAILS
The Registrar’s Office serves as the repository for all student academic records including grades and transcripts and is responsible for ensuring accurate and up-to-date information. The Registrar’s Office also certifies candidates for graduation, provides enrollment reports, and oversees veterans’ enrollment and benefits certifications as well as managing class schedules and assignments.
Reporting directly to the Enrollment Registrar Specialist-Graduation Audit Specialist, the Enrollment Registrar Coordinator-Retention Services Coordinator has primary responsibility for the evaluation of the academic attainment of applicants for graduation. The Coordinator is charged with communicating accurate, consistent, and timely Registrar’s Office information to students, faculty, and staff of the College. The Registrar Coordinator will serve as a vital member of the Retention and Graduation Audit Unit within the Hostos Registrar’s Office and oversee the preliminary review of students’ eligibility to apply for graduation status.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist with the evaluation and assessment of applicants for graduation.
Assist with the review of student records to ensure student degree requirements are met.
Assist with the supervision of support staff in data collection, input, updates, and audits for prospective graduation candidates.
Assist with the graduation tracking of prospective graduation candidates.
Assist with the processing of graduation clearances and documentation for certification.
Assist with the preparation, ordering, and distribution of diplomas.
Communicate with students regarding notification of their graduation status.
Responsible for keeping abreast of the latest developments as it pertains to all curricular matters.
Responsible for keeping updated on the various academic technology systems utilized for Registrar’s Office services.
Responsible for assisting the Registrar in identifying academic technologies and innovations to Registrar’s Office services.
Responsible for recommending strategies and business process enhancements for Registrar services.
Respond to online verification requests from the National Student Clearinghouse.
Update and maintain content for the Registrar’s Office website.
Other duties as assigned by the Registrar.
Essential duties require on-campus presence.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
The following qualifications are preferred:
At least two years experience working in higher education setting
Experience with CUNY systems
Experience working with diverse populations
Available to work evening and weekend hours when required

Provides advice on academic and administrative registration requirements
Interprets and communicates academic, registration and enrollment policies and procedures
Assists with registration and provides information to prospective and enrolled students in registration and records-related areas
Complies, generates, and updates various reports, catalogs, and inventories
Maintains compliance with established record release procedures, including the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Collaborates with College and University offices to address inquires and concerns and resolve student registration and record problems
May participate in activities related to course scheduling and maintaining course databases
May monitor and revise the content of web pages and other communication materials
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$44,411 - $54,268; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
