Under the supervision of the Chief Diversity Officer at Bronx Community College, the Affirmative Action Specialist assists in providing technical and administrative support in the administration of affirmative action/Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) programs; assists in the resolution of discrimination complaints; provides intake and investigatory assistance on Affirmative Action/EEO issues; performs research; assists with compliance training programs; computes data, and prepares report for the annual Affirmative Action Plan; explains CUNY policy and procedures to the campus community; maintains affirmative action records; and performs other related duties, as required. The Affirmative Action Specialist is a confidential position which performs a more defined technical function and has a set scope of responsibility. The position is responsible for providing assistance to the Chief Diversity Officer in the administration of Affirmative Action and EEO programs.
Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Develops and administers employment compliance and diversity initiatives.
Assists in implementing Affirmative Action (AA), equal employment opportunity (EEO), and diversity policies by ensuring compliance with relevant federal, state, and local statutes such as Executive Order 11246, Title VII, Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the American with Disabilities Act
Prepares data and creates reports on Affirmative Action Plans, recruiting activities and outcomes, and employee demographics, identifying trends and issues
Helps prepare and deliver innovative communications and training programs on diversity, compliance with employment law, implementation of the Affirmative Action Plan, and other topics as needed
Administers selected recruiting and search procedures
Assists in developing and implementing diversity awareness programs.
Performs related duties as assigned.

$47,340 - $81,855; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
