Kingsborough Community College was founded in 1963 and is one of 23 campuses of the City University of New York (CUNY) system and offers liberal arts education, as well as career training programs. Kingsborough serves a widely diverse population with approximately 70% of Kingsborough’s students enrolled in a liberal arts or science degree program; the rest pursue degrees in more specialized, career-oriented programs such as business, communications, criminal justice, culinary arts, nursing and allied health careers, information technology, journalism, maritime technology, tourism and hospitality, and the visual arts. The college takes pride in its many support programs that enhance student success. All students are offered individual, personal, and academic counseling; workshops to improve basic skills; and career planning and placement. Kingsborough Community College is seeking an Academic Program Specialist to support curriculum development, program planning and assessment. This individual will report to the Provost and work closely with the Director of Assessment and the Director of Curriculum Development and Program Planning. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Academic Program Specialist duties will include but not be limited to the following:
Provide administrative and program support for curriculum development, program planning, assessment, and the development of articulation agreements
Plan, organize, and coordinate curriculum committee meetings, assessment committee meetings, program reviews and special programs and key events
Maintain highly organized management and administrative systems/platforms for curriculum and assessment materials, including the college catalog and the assessment platform
Provide support and technical assistance in researching, coordinating, and organizing curriculum, program, and assessment materials
Provide instructions and basic advice to faculty and others seeking information on curriculum and assessment
Develop, coordinate, and maintain an annual calendar of academic assessment and curricular activities, including workshops and other developmental activities for faculty, chairs and unit managers
Assist in collecting and analyzing data related to a wide variety of academic projects, student learning outcomes assessment, accreditation, and decision-making
Supervise and train part-time personnel (e.g., work-study students, temporary staff).
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to their campus.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education administration and knowledge curriculum and assessment
Excellent attention to detail, writing, editing, organizational and interpersonal skills
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, in particular with using Microsoft Excel
Ability to work in a highly interactive environment, be proactive and flexible both on a team and individually, and manage a varied workload
Familiarity with or a variety of technologies, such as database software, LMS systems, student information systems and course management platforms

Participates in the daily coordination of academic and administrative activities of a College's specialized academic program under management direction.
Supports program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
Recommends, implements and evaluates strategies to expand program offerings
Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
Develops and maintains relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services
Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures
Oversees office recordkeeping; manages updates of program web and print materials
May supervise office operations and/or department budget
Performs related duties as assigned.
