The Office of the Registrar at City Tech welcomes applications for the position of Academic Systems and Business Effectiveness Specialist.
Reporting to the Senior Registrar and in collaboration with the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Computing Information Services, various departmental supervisors, and the CUNY Central Office, the Academic Systems and Business Effectiveness Specialist serves as the primary liaison for Navigate and DegreeWorks. With an eye toward effective implementation, the Academic Systems and Business Effectiveness Specialist ensures that the Navigate and DegreeWorks platforms support both innovative and tested solutions to support City Tech’s retention and graduation goals, delivers a high-quality experience to students, faculty, and staff.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities of the Academic Systems and Business Effectiveness Specialist include:
Configuring Navigate, including the addition and maintenance of new data elements (e.g., categories, tags, student groups, etc.)
Developing DegreeWorks training materials and facilitate training workshops for faculty, staff, and students
Analyzing and monitoring TAP reports, identify patterns, and address issues (e.g., erroneous course placements, repeated courses, credit discrepancies, etc.).
Collaborating with the Office of Computing Information Services Faculty/Staff and Student Help Desk in the resolution of issues with access to the application
Establishing a timeline for updates to the system
Supporting Navigate and DegreeWorks trainings tailored to the various user roles on campus
Serving on college-wide committees as a subject matter expert on these systems
As appropriate, supporting integration with other technology solution systems
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
Applicants who possess the technical and organizational skills to facilitate cross functional effectiveness with a variety of stakeholders on campus are highly preferred.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Assists with planning, conducting, and implementing improvements to operational practices and systems aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness.
-Provides functional project support to areas in transition, collects and analyzes data, and prepares project materials
-Coordinates efforts between departments and between the college/unit and external participants
-Participates in planning implementation tasks, including training
-Performs needs and outcomes assessments as needed
-May provide training and follow-up support
-Performs related duties as assigned.
