GENERAL DUTIES

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Working within the Program Director and HEA Kitchen manager, the Adjunct College Laboratory Technician will assist with routine operations, problem resolution, and other assigned tasks related to the support of faculty and students in the pedagogical application of cooking and baking technology in classes in the Culinary Arts and F&B disciplines within the Tourism and Hospitality Department.
Provide instructional support for the use and care of culinary systems, lab policies, and equipment by faculty with the application said systems and equipment in their classrooms.
Maintain kitchen equipment and materials in support of the general administration of culinary labs.
Maintain equipment, food, and supply inventories.
Provide technical (culinary systems and procedures) support and assistance for students and faculty in the culinary lab.
Communicate with faculty and student users to the details of lab assignments. Log and document problem reports and work orders with kitchen manager and Program Director.
Identify problems regarding culinary labs, receiving and storing processes, inventories and their operating environments; document findings and follow up to assure problems are resolved.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications:
National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation ServSafe food safety and NYC DOH foodhandlers certified and licensed
Minimum of eight years of experience in food service purchasing, restaurant, or catering management
Good interpersonal, communications, presentation, organizational, and technical skills
Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications
American Culinary Federation (ACF) certification - CCE, CEC, CMC, CPC, CCA
Bachelor's degree
COMPENSATION
$30.61 - $44.23 per hour. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
