FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
New York City College of Technology of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering 60 associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for an adjunct position in the Department of Health Sciences, to begin during the 2022-2023 academic year. This is a part-time position.
The Department of Health Sciences offers an AS in Health Science, a BS in Health Services Administration and a newly launched BS in Healthcare Policy and Management. Their curriculum covers health safety, health dynamics, health policy and management principles, health law and compliance, health care financing and accounting, health management and information systems, health research methods, and medical metrics.
The position requires a commitment to teaching.
Duties include:
• Teach courses in the diverse offerings of the Department of Health Sciences.
• Day, evening, and weekend teaching and departmental duties may be required.
• One weekly office hour per assigned course.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
For Adjunct Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor:
• Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent and ability to teach successfully.
For Adjunct Lecturer:
• Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, or a related clinical field and ability to teach successfully.
Preferred Qualifications:
A master’s degree in Health Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, or a related clinical field is preferred for Adjunct Lecturer.
For all levels:
• Five or more years post degree employment in the health care industry is preferred.
• Higher education teaching experience with exposure to online course delivery and learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard) is highly desirable.
