FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Psychology, in the School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences at Brooklyn College of The City University of New York, invites applications for adjunct instructors for Spring 2020.

The Department of Psychology has over 30 full-time faculty and serves about 1,800 undergraduate majors as well as about 200 graduate students in four different Master’s programs. The Department teaches a variety of courses each semester, most of which are 3 credit hours. Typically, adjunct instructors teach 1-2 courses per semester.

Successful candidates will prepare and teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in one or more of the following areas:

  • General Psychology

  • Social Psychology

  • Developmental Psychology

  • Personality Psychology

  • Cognition, Learning, Perception, and Emotion

  • Biopsychology and Neuroscience

  • Psychopathology and Clinical Applications

  • Industrial and Organizational Psychology

  • Mental Health Counseling

QUALIFICATIONS

For Adjunct Lecturer:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology or related discipline or field

  • Teaching excellence, which can be demonstrated through classroom or other work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise or practical experience relevant to the courses to be taught (e.g., clinical or consulting or Human Resource Management)

For Adjunct Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree in Psychology or related discipline or field

  • Teaching excellence, which can be demonstrated through classroom or other work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of University level teaching experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated expertise or practical experience relevant to the courses to be taught (e.g., clinical or consulting or Human Resource Management)

COMPENSATION

Commensurate with experience and education. All appointments are subject to financial availability.
