FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of History, Philosophy and Political Science at Kingsborough Community College is seeking adjunct faculty for the spring 2022 semester to teach undergraduate courses in the following areas:

  • Latin American, Native American and/or Latinx History

  • Asian and Asian Diaspora History

  • U.S. History Surveys

  • African History

Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in any area of Racial/Ethnic Studies with preference for Latin American and Latinx histories.

  • Expertise in Native American history (to contribute to U.S. History surveys and update an existing course).

  • Ability to develop introductory interdisciplinary course for community college students

  • Demonstrated ability to teach successfully

For Adjunct Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor:

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.

For Adjunct Lecturer:

Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.

COMPENSATION

$75.97 - $125.42 per hour. Salary to commensurate with qualifications and experience.
