FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY) is a comprehensive college of over 17,000 students in downtown Brooklyn, offering associate and baccalaureate degree in technology and health related degree programs, other career-oriented degrees and liberal arts transfer degrees in its Schools of Arts and Sciences, Technology and Design, and Professional Studies. City Tech is seeking candidates for Adjunct Lecturer and Adjunct Assistant Professor positions for the upcoming semester, to perform teaching and related duties in our School of Arts and Sciences. The vacancies are in the following Academic Departments and specific areas:

African American Studies - African Art, African American Art, and Caribbean Art.

Biological Sciences - Biochemistry.

Chemistry - Physical Chemistry and Instrumental Methods.

English - English Composition.

Humanities - Public Speaking; History of Photography; and Art of the U.S.

Mathematics - Developmental Math, College Algebra and Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.

Physics - Algebra-based Physics and Calculus-based Physics.

Social Science - Economics and Political Science.

QUALIFICATIONS

For Adjunct Assistant Professor: Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.

For Adjunct Lecturer: Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully. A minimum of a master's degree in the field is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching experience at college level.

COMPENSATION

CUNY offers adjunct faculty a compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits for eligible adjuncts based on certain criteria which includes number of consecutive semesters (excluding winter and summer sessions) taught as well as number of teaching hours assigned for each semester.
