CUNY Administrative Manager (Associate Director of Campus Support Services) in Brooklyn, New York


Brooklyn College invites applications for the Administrative Manager (Associate Director of Campus Support Services) position in the Office of Institutional and Academic Programs.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Institutional and Academic Programs, the Associate Director of Campus Support Services oversees administrative support services, including: Mailing Services, which provides all of the functions of the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), BC Printworks, which is a comprehensive, state of the art facility providing various large-scale printing services, and the BC Copy Center, a facility where students, faculty and staff can fulfill general photocopy needs.

The Associate Director recommends and implements approved changes, reports on results, and plans future performance goals and targets for the programming portfolio of the Assistant Dean for Institutional and Academic Programs. In addition, the Associate Director also participates in the development and administration of campus training programs, and administers website and other informational materials.

The Associate Director of Campus Support Services performs the following duties:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Mailing Services, including domestic and international mail services. Supervise and train staff in all phases of mail/messenger service operations.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the handling and disposition of mail and to provide delivery of services, emphasizing the utilization of automated systems.

  • Oversee safety standards and quality control standards and maintenance of vital equipment , including: DocuMatch Integrated Mailing System, Pitney Bowes DM 1000 mail processors, AddressRight Addressing Systems and associated components, equipment capacity and use of materials.

  • Manage the daily operations of Printworks and the BC Copy Center, including the supervision of staff and the development of production standards.

  • Develop and implement training programs and communications that focus on end-user learning related to CUNYFirst. Organizes instructional teams and other support mechanisms to maintain and build on training results, ensuring success of goals and outcomes

  • Conduct surveys, studies, and analyses of operational practices in the Assistant Dean’s portfolio, reporting findings and identifying opportunities for improvement as part of an ongoing, data-driven process of assessment and planning.


Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required.

Manages administrative and program activities of an academic or administrative unit.

  • Manages administrative aspects of department operations such as admissions, recruitment, scheduling, facilities management, and events.

  • Serves as Office Manager, supervising and training staff, managing financial operations and budgets, and coordinating technology, equipment, security, and building maintenance requirements.

  • Represents management in meetings and activities related to department administration.

  • Maintains archives, inventories, or collections of materials or records needed by the department.

  • Works with fund-raising, marketing, technology, and other personnel to provide information and participate in Campus or University-wide initiatives.

  • Collect information for, produce, and distribute department reports covering program, fiscal, and human resources issues

  • Independently carries out unit activities such as approvals, student interactions, and participation in campus- or university-wide committees and projects.
