The Director of Admissions will report to the VP for Enrollment Management. The Director of Admissions will oversee the Admissions Processing , the One Stop Center, the New Student Engagement Team, Transfer Credit Evaluation and collaborate closely with the Recruitment area. The Director is responsible for processing of all admissions applications, identifying students status, programs, eligibility and missing documents. The Director will oversee all transfer credit evaluations and for all newly admitted transfer students as well as readmit students transferring back with credits to be evaluated. The Director will report application numbers that create our enrollment funnel, showing the number of students in categories of prospective, accepted, admitted, committed and registered. The Director is responsible for coordinating the opening and closing dates for each application cycle, both online and direct applications to the college. The Director is responsible for maintaining the list of approved programs, both active and inactive, as well as communicating with the Central Office when a program needs to be terminated/discontinued. The Director will directly supervise nine full time staff members and nine part time staff members.

Principal responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recommend and implement improvements to the admissions process as warranted.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies, guidelines, and regulations of the College, the University, City and State.

  • Utilize technology and other tools to effectively leverage the admissions resources for the college.

  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate all admissions staff, and model service excellence for the admissions team.

  • Serves as representative for the College.


Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Creative and flexible problem solver who can execute in an evolving college structure.

  • Proficient using standard higher education industry admissions systems and tools, including CRM, web-based, and online applications to perform market analyses.

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to work and interact effectively, collaboratively, and cooperatively with a diverse community of learners, students, faculty, staff and external constituencies.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Hobsons CRM.

  • Higher Education managerial experience.

  • Ability to identify, develop, lead, and manage a small admissions team.

  • Ability to work evening hours and occasional weekends.


Develops, implements, and manages one or more major admissions and recruiting functions.

  • Manages overall recruitment and admissions processes

  • Develops recruiting strategies for the College and/or specific programs or groups and works closely with academic departments, programs, and administrators to coordinate marketing and recruiting

  • Manages the development and distribution of recruiting materials and communications of all kinds

  • Manages admissions operations and staff, including coordination with outside organizations and University administration

  • Oversees department budget including developing detailed proposals to support recruitment and admissions

  • Evaluates and reports outcomes; uses information in statistical, fiscal, and other reports to make improvements to the recruiting process

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
