POSITION DETAILS
Brooklyn College seeks a Senior Admissions Advisor who will serve as the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions. Reporting to the Director of Graduate and International Admissions the Assistant Director will work with the Director to implement, and execute a comprehensive admissions strategy to attract and enroll students with emphasis on graduate and International students.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, typical duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Serve as a Designated School Officer (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for the Brooklyn College F-1 and J-1 student and scholar population.
Lead on-campus and virtual information sessions and serve as in-house graduate admissions advisor for prospective students and families.
Administer graduate student admissions activities, including participation in on- and off-campus recruitment events to meet College enrollment goals. Manage caseload through in-person visits, email, and phone.
Coordinate travel plan for colleges and partner organizations within assigned territory and outside of the New York area.
Make data-informed decisions utilizing a Custoemer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, institutional data, and current trends in higher education.
Manage communication on Brooklyn College's admissions social media outlets. Assist with the creation of relevant campaigns which engage the target audience. Support the production of promotional materials.
Seek and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices in graduate and International admissions and recruitment and applies this knowledge to everyday duties.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Valid driver’s license required.
Experience working with International Students.
Experience working in an Admissions or Enrollment setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Possess a sensitivity to the needs of a diverse campus population.
Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
Experience using Hobsons Connect and ApplyYourself, and/or other standard higher education industry admissions and recruiting systems/tools.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft and/or CUNYfirst, along and the aptitude to learn new systems.
Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
Demonstrates communication skills, writing and public speaking ability, exemplary customer service skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with key constituents and prospects within assigned territory.
Experience with events and local or regional travel planning.
Knowledge of trends and best practices in the field of admissions, recruitment or enrollment management.
Active working knowledge of college programs and opportunities and the ability to present this information to prospective students in all formats.
Experience with social media outlets in regard to use in recruitment (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, and lnstagram).
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be a proactive member of the admissions team.

Counsels prospective, transfer, and current students on their academic goals and how they may be achieved at the College, and assists them in preparing academic plans
Provides referrals to other College departments as needed to further assist student/applicant
Conducts follow-up with students from inquiry stage to registration
Reviews applications and provides preliminary recommendations on admissions
Participates in recruitment programs such as open house sessions, and direct recruiting activities
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$56,447 - $64,649; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
