POSITION DETAILS
Medgar Evers College (MEC), a nationally recognized leader in urban-serving education, is one of the twenty-five colleges within the dynamic City University New York (CUNY) System. Named for the late civil rights leader, Medgar Wiley Evers (1925-1963), the College's mission is to develop and maintain high-quality, professional, career-oriented undergraduate degree programs in the context of a liberal education.
Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Associate Director for Marketing & Web Content will serve as one of the College's primary digital contributors, managing general visual presentations and producing imagery in cooperation with the departmental or office representatives and web team. Additionally, this person will manage the College's digital advertising and media buying.
The individual will be responsible for fostering engagements and interactions with each unit within the College, ensuring the correct data is provided to help generate content to increase student enrollment.
The Associate Director will also:
Develop and manage the design of Medgar Evers College's website.
Plan, research, develop, and design digital material to enhance the online user experience.
Assist in the creation of policies and procedures to ensure high quality and appropriateness of materials on the website (including ADA Compliance).
Analysis and revision of existing web-based forms and/or design attributes.
Manage SEO strategy, create and optimize content for SEO, and encourage SEO best practices across the College.
Review visual content for quality and completeness and work with the administration, faculty, and staff to ensure visual assets are compatible with the digital platforms.
Research new and emerging developments in electronic communications that can be used to increase visibility and enhance better communication internally and externally. Stay abreast of new platforms and trends in web design, including the latest updates and advances.
Make recommendations and incorporate changes for an enhanced user experience.
Assist with proofreading and copyediting of the website and digital platforms.
Spearhead digital marketing initiatives that include brand and media strategies that will increase enrollment
Perform data analysis that will inform digital marketing strategies
Manage new digital projects as assigned by the Director
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and six yers' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree
Must have a working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, PHP, CSS, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, WordPress, & Visio
Experience with media development and management
Experience with website analytic tools
Experience developing social and digital strategy
Excellent written and verbal communications
Knowledge of social media development and website integration. Example: Hootsuite, Google Ads, Facebook etc.
Must be comfortable with assisting with the front end: HTML5, CSS3, UI and JavaScript (jQuery)

-Consults with client staff to assess needs and determine design and technical specifications
-Plans communications messages, formats, and designs which meet clients' needs and have impact with the intended audience(s)
-Coordinates the efforts of internal and external professionals to implement and disseminate electronic media projects
-Creates and maintains databases, archives, and other content associated with electronic media projects
-Develops production policies and standards and adheres to communications and branding standards
-Supervises staff as needed
-Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
$84,946-$102,017
