CUNY Business Data and Reporting Analyst Level 3 or 4 (Provisional) in Brooklyn, New York

GENERAL DUTIES

Under supervision, provides and/or oversees expert end-user support by proficiently and accurately inputting, auditing, and reporting on information in CUNYfirst (i.e., PeopleSoft). CUNYfirst is the City University of New York's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Oracle/PeopleSoft system used to capture and maintain the University's student administration, human resources and finance functions.

This position differs from an Information Technology position in that an incumbent in an Information Technology position provides hardware support, software programming and networking, systems planning, and/or technological troubleshooting while a Business Data and Reporting Analyst is a highly skilled end-user of CUNYfirst. There are 4 levels of this title. Related duties may be assigned as needed.

Levels 1 and 2 are non-exempt from FLSA. Levels 3 and 4 are exempt from FLSA.

At the Office of Faculty and Staff Relations (OFSR), human resources management is our focus. OFSR works diligently to attract, sustain, and inspire excellence in our staff, administrators and faculty through the administration of personnel-related matters for the college. OFSR works collaboratively to support the objectives of New York City College of Technology, the designated college of technology of The City University of New York, by providing leader-ship in personnel administration, workforce development, and labor and employee relations in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.

We manage personnel actions relative to the teaching and non-teaching instructional staff, and handle all matters pertaining to our classified (civil service) staff. Our services include benefits and pension administration, time and leave management, professional development, and collaborating with the college's administrative and academic leadership to attract and recruit a talented and dedicated workforce.

Under supervision, the Business Data and Reporting Analyst provides and/or oversees expert end-user support by proficiently and accurately inputting, auditing, and reporting on information in CUNYfirst (i.e., PeopleSoft). CUNYfirst is the City University of New York's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Oracle/PeopleSoft system used to capture and maintain various University functions, including human resources.

Reporting to the OFSR Executive Director, the Business Data and Reporting Analyst's duties will include the following:

  • Serve as the campus CUNYfirst user subject matter expert, and recommend changes to college processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness in using CUNYfirst.

  • Generate bi-weekly reports from multiple data sources such as CUNYFirst/PeopleSoft and to review and analyze information for auditing purposes and data cleanup.

  • Manage the content of the OFSR webpage and the content of multiple electronic communication systems such as digital signage and listservs.

  • Assist in managing the administration of CUNYfirst including assigned security roles for HR data access.

  • Prepare and oversee formal campus CUNYfirst user training when needed.

  • Review source documents for completeness and accuracy; resolve and correct errors or inconsistencies.

  • Coordinate and manage the conversion of legacy systems to new systems including data cleaning and archiving.

  • Create query reports and internal data audits, including yearly reports for IPEDS.

  • Work collaboratively with OFSR team, Evening and Summer Session (Adjunct) Office, Payroll, and other campus offices in resolving personnel data issues.

  • Troubleshoot various issues that arise in CUNYfirst, and report problems with office equipment, computers and software to the helpdesk and/or vendors and follow-up as needed.

  • Maintain data integrity by working closely with OFSR staff and other offices to ensure accurate entries

  • Assist with upload of Mass Reappointment activities for HEO Title Series during key periods in the academic and fiscal year.

  • Provide support for Talent Acquisition Module in CUNYfirst and assist with posting vacant positions on TAM.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

All Levels

  • Possession of a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Demonstrated English language proficiency, including the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English well enough to meet minimally acceptable performance standards set for the job tasks.

  • One (1) year of related full-time experience utilizing PeopleSoft computer software technology. CUNY considers full-time experience to be 35 hours per week. Experience that is less than full-time and more than 20 hours per week can be prorated at 50% (e.g., two month's related work experience at 20-35 hours per week equate to one month's full-time related work experience.)

This title has four levels. To qualify for Levels 2 - 4, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Proficiency with Oracle database.

  • Experience working in higher education or public/nonprofit sector.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues.

COMPENSATION

New Hire: Level 3 - $59,013* Level 4 - $73,285*

Incumbent: Level 3 - $66,710 Level 4 - $82,813

*This amount reflects a 13% salary suppression in effect for the first 24 months of employment.
