Brooklyn College invites applications for the Enrollment Specialist position in the Student Financial Services.

The Brooklyn College Student Financial Services Call Center is the central telecommunications headquarters for student financials offices. The Center provides telephone support to the areas of the Bursar, Financial Aid, and Scholarships. The Center’s mission is to provide courteous, professional, and accurate information to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the College.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Financial Services, the Assistant Director of Student Financial Services (SFS) Call Center is responsible for training and supervising Call Center staff, administering CUNYfirst activities and providing support for student service offices as necessary.

The Assistant Director of the SFS Call Center (Enrollment Specialist) performs the following duties:

  • Supervise and schedule a team of part-time Call Center staff, ensuring quality customer service for student financial issues

  • Implement on-going customer service and content training for Call Center staff. Prepare training material, and make recommendations to the Executive Director for improvement. Maintain a resource center of materials and student resources to be used for personnel training. Implement CUNYfirst training for students and Call Center staff

  • Assist with the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications plan that includes integrated communications from all relevant student services areas

  • Serve as the communications liaison for student financials and implement an effective social media campaign. Work closely with student services offices such as the Registrar, Bursar, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Student Success and Academic Advisement, and the Enrollment Services Center to ensure accurate dissemination of information

  • Work closely with student financial services areas to troubleshoot student records. Open CRM tickets to address CUNYfirst issues that cannot be handled at the campus level

  • Represent the office at student events and divisional planning meetings

  • Maintain and prepare departmental procedures and policies

  • Review and monitor achievement of goals related to the strategic action plan and university performance indicators. Create an assessment report that outlines the Center’s goals and objectives and periodically report on the Center’s activities

  • Ensure department compliance with record retention and FERPA regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • At least two years of experience in customer service is highly desirable

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Supervisory experience is a plus

  • Collaborates with management team in the development of admission and enrollment goals, strategies, and initiatives; participates in planning enrollment events.

  • Analyzes and interprets quantitative and qualitative student enrollment data to prepare reports for management.

  • Recommends and implements improvements to existing technical systems and office operations.

  • Serves as resource reference to interpret and comply with University and College enrollment policies.

  • Prepares and reviews student communication materials.

  • May coordinate aspects of student entry from point of allocation to include orientation, advisement, and collection of admitted student documents.

  • May supervise office operations and/or department budget

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

$47,340 - $63,617; Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
