The Grants Manager reports to the Associate Provost and works collaboratively with the Office of College Advancement to manage College's Perkins Grant programs and operations and provide assistance in the management of other Academic and Student Affairs-related grant projects. The Grants Manager will serve as the Perkins Grants Officer and is responsible for the successful implementation, management, and evaluation of the Perkins Grant, including compiling and submitting all reports to NYSED in a timely manner. Specifically, the Perkins Grants Officer will:

  • Provide leadership in Perkins Grant management, including programmatic and budgetary oversight.

  • Collaborate with key campus and off-campus stakeholders to ensure institution-wide awareness, commitment, and support for the goals of the Perkins Grant.

  • Work closely with the Deans, Directors, and faculty to plan and implement a successful grant-funded program to support institutional needs and strategy.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with NYSED Perkins staff.

  • Ensure submission of all required programmatic and fiscal reports to NYSED by established due dates.

  • Monitor all Perkins funded programs at the institution for adherence and compliance with the Perkins Guidelines and to ensure all Perkins funded goals and activities run efficiently and effectively.

  • Track Perkins spending on a regular basis and submit budget amendments as needed to ensure the total Perkins allocation is spent according to the NYSED approved budgets/amendments.

  • Work with institutional research staff to improve data collection and ensure timely report submission.

  • Coordinate the planning, meeting, and documentation of the Perkins Local Advisory Council activities.

  • Supervise support staff as necessary.

In addition to serving as the Perkins Grants Officer, the Grants Manager will support the Provost and Associate Provost in the preparation, management and tracking of other grant projects overseen by Academic and Student Affairs.

The selected individual will be detail oriented and skilled in all aspects of grant management ensuring alignment to the college’s mission and strategic goals. The candidate will be a relationship builder and collaborator with all stakeholders across. Effective written and oral interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.


Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree and demonstrated success managing large grants preferred.

  • Higher Education experience with the CTE program area.

  • Demonstrated success as a grant manager over workforce or CTE programs.


Manages College's grant development programs and operations.

  • Manages grant development activities; writes grants, creates grant budgets and monitors compliance

  • Assists Director in implementation of grants; works closely and independently with grantors in resolving issues

  • Conducts prospect research; identifies, analyzes and cultivates potential funding sources

  • Guides faculty in finding appropriate funding sources based on discipline and/or research interest

  • Develops and conducts grants-related training with faculty and staff

  • May manage professional and/or clerical staff

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
