FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of History, Philosophy and Political Science at Kingsborough Community College invites applications for a full-time Certificate of Continuous Employment (CCE) track Lecturer to primarily teach POL 51: Introduction to U.S. Government and Politics - our most popular course for the 2023-2024 academic year. In addition to teaching, the candidate is expected to perform student advisement, contribute to new course development, and serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
Performs teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise.
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to their campus.

M.A. in area (s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.
Ph.D. (completed or in progress), strongly preferred.
Experience teaching community college students with demonstrated experience with high-impact practices for community college students, such as (but not limited to) Open Educational Resources (OER) and community-based experiences.
Area of specialization is open, although we have sufficient coverage in political theory,
We are particularly seeking someone who has an interdisciplinary background, and the ability to develop and teach courses in Inequality Studies, Race and Ethnic Politics, Political Economy, or Media Studies.
Experience, ability, and willingness to teach a wide range of courses and formats in the department including evening and weekend assignments as well as in-person, hybrid, and fully online courses.
Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.
$67,684 - $76,870
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
