The Vice President for Enrollment Management at Kingsborough Community College(KCC) is responsible for the college’s recruitment, admissions and enrollment planning, while meeting net tuition revenue objectives and enhancing the College’s market position. The Vice President serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet and shall develop and incorporate innovative practices into plans and strategies and collaborate with other College and University executives, and outside organizations, as needed, to develop appropriate policy and acquire resources. The candidate shall be a dynamic leader of an executive team responsible for personnel, budget, operations, and communications.
The Vice President will report to the President, and will lead the strategic efforts of an approximately 75 person enrollment unit in achieving the college’s mission and values, collaborating and working closely with college leadership, faculty, and staff to create the strongest possible enrollment future for Kingsborough. The leadership of Kingsborough seeks to be innovative, and flexible in every phase of the enrollment process. As the college’s chief enrollment officer, the vice president provides the leadership, strategic direction, and coordination for a comprehensive enrollment strategy that is aggressive, opportunistic and results oriented forward looking, and is consistent with the goals, mission, and resources of Kingsborough.
The Vice President will provide entrepreneurial vision and leadership in the development and implementation of community college strategic enrollment goals and measurable objectives and strategies. The Vice President will oversee a rapidly changing student profile and lead an enrollment team that responds to enrollment challenges.
The Vice President oversees Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Single Stop, Testing, Admissions Information Center, New American Center, One Stop, and International Student Affairs. The Vice President will establish strategic direction, priorities, and goals for each office within the division, making data-informed proposals and decisions, while seeking both standard and creative ways to achieve and maintain enrollment goals.
The Vice President for Enrollment Management will be a consummate professional who embraces a team environment and works with colleagues in a spirit of partnership, transparency, and fiscal responsibility. The Vice President must build and maintain excellent relationships across the college and with external constituencies, reaching out to and engaging all those in the extended Kingsborough community. Further, the Vice President will develop a strong enrollment staff that is optimistic, excited about change, responsive, innovative, analytical, collaborative, results-oriented, and student-centered.
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
• Eight to ten years of demonstrated progressive leadership experience in higher education enrollment management
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Public Administration, Business Administration, Higher Education, or related field
• Experience as a director in an enrollment management unit (admissions, registrar or finance)
• Community college experience preferred
Additionally, the Vice President shall:
• Demonstrate a leadership style that is collaborative and effective in achieving institutional priorities
• Maintain awareness of current and impending trends affecting undergraduate and enrollment
• Maintain awareness of best practices in enrollment management and how to creatively adapt them to KCC
• Be skilled in engaging people across campus to assist in enrollment efforts
• Have a strong work ethic along with involvement in life of the College
proven record of fiscal management
• Have a strong vision leading to development and execution of innovative recruitment and student retention approaches
