This position will report to the Administrative Director for the Criminal Justice (CRJ) Master’s (MA) Program and the CRJ Accelerated Programs.
In addition to general office duties, key responsibilities include the following:
Monitor CRJ MA email accounts and construct appropriate replies.
Maintain the CRJ MA listserv, listserv participants and communiques.
Advise graduate students by creating an academic plan, process waivers and exemptions, help students to select electives and specializations, track completion of core requirements and completion of the CRJ Qualifying exam.
Assist in the CRJ MA advisement process for first-semester students.
Organize, preparing and execute the CRJ MA Information Day sessions both online and on campus.
Assist the Administrative Director in the preparation for and administration of the CRJ Qualifying exam offered each regular semester.
Create and organize online advisement sessions for the online students.
Assist with advisement of students placed on probation.
Assist with coordination of events targeted to the BA/MA students.
Assist with editing the CRJ MA Students’ Handbook.
Liaise with the Criminal Justice undergraduate and Ph.D. programs as needed.
Bachelor's Degree required.
The preferred candidate will have:
Experience providing administrative support in a higher education setting.
Experience providing academic advisement assistance to students.
Experience with academic planning and course scheduling.
Ability to be detail-oriented and address concurrent issues and adapt easily to changing priorities.
Knowledge of statistics.
Proficiency in Microsoft suite application, particularly Excel; ability to quickly learn new software.
Familiarity with Hobsons, CUNY First (PeopleSoft), ProctorU, AdvisorTrac, Skype and Google Docs Hangout, and LinkedIn.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Provides basic operational and analytical support related to a College's specialized academic program.
Supports the directors and managers with orientation preparation, student advisement regarding program requirements, and providing basic information about financial aid and registration
Manages office records including faculty files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities
Serves as liaison to various College offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students
Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards
Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures
May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget
Performs related duties as assigned.

$45,957 - $48,210.
