Reporting to the Academic Director of the M.S. in Data Science (MSDS) and the B.S. in Information Systems (BSIS) Degree programs, the Academic Program Specialist will support the administrative and academic operations of the program.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, duties will include but are not limited to:
Manage student registration; confirmation of teaching schedules, instructional appointments, workload reporting, and timesheet processes; course revision processes, course development to production process, textbook assignments; and, submission of grades to CUNYfirst.
Advise current and prospective MSDS students, as well as supporting the MSDS admissions process, working closely with the Admission Department;
Assist with the development of new program offerings; identifying and recommend future course offerings based on review of industry trends, student interests and other quantitative and qualitative data
Work closely with SPS Events, Marketing and Admissions to recruit and track potential applicants to maximize applicant pool;
Coordinate logistics and related matters for information sessions and program events
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.
The preferred candidate should have:
Master’s degree in a related area;
Experience providing academic and administrative support in an urban public university setting;
Experience with CUNYFirst Campus Solutions;
Experience with Hobsons;
Proficiency with Blackboard;
Proven experience with student advisement;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow established processes;
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, demanding, and complex work environment.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Participates in the daily coordination of academic and administrative activities of a College's specialized academic program under management direction.
Supports program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
Recommends, implements and evaluates strategies to expand program offerings
Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
Develops and maintains relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services
Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures
Oversees office recordkeeping; manages updates of program web and print materials
May supervise office operations and/or department budget
Performs related duties as assigned.

$61,593 - $68,351 commensurate with education and experience.
