POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting to the Campus Security Director or designee, the successful candidate will assist with carrying out the following responsibilities, in addition to the CUNY Title Overview duties.

  • Coordinate personnel coverage for special events by posting memorandums.

  • Maintain personnel attendance cards and special events charts.

  • Perform all assignments as instructed by the Director, Deputy Director and Assistant Director, including typing and distributing all correspondence, in accordance with the exigencies of the Department of Public Safety.

  • Prepare and maintain field personnel’s schedules and Master Calendar.

  • Prepare estimates and final invoices for special events.

  • Update Day off/Tour Switch calendar and Public Safety Events calendar.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Security Management or law enforcement preferred.

  • Computer literate and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work under pressure, complete multiple assignments and projects simultaneously and produce results in a timely manner.

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Familiarity with various social media platforms.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Supports projects, initiatives, and activities that impact an academic or administrative department.

  • Manages basic office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information.

  • Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

  • Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections.

  • Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities.

  • Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing.

  • Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.

  • May supervise office staff and student workers.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
