Reporting to the Vice President for Information Services and Dean of the Library, this position will perform office and administrative duties in support of the College’s Information Services Division, which includes the Baruch Computing and Technology Center, William and Anita Newman Library, and Office of Institutional Research.
In addition to the duties outlined in the CUNY Title Overview, tasks include, but are not limited to:
Support the Vice President and Assistant Vice President with the development and delivery of programs of service through assistance with planning activities, implementation details with other offices, communication with service users, and documentation of accomplishments.
Coordinate the Division’s purchasing and revenue reporting activities and participate in the application of internal controls.
Administer special projects, events, and efforts to improve the effectiveness of the Division.
Collect routine performance data from units of the Division, compile reports, and distribute to managers and other designated recipients.
Collaborate with Human Resources for all hiring needs and payroll functions.
Serve as a liaison to various College offices and student organizations.
Assist with coverage at office reception desks.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Detail oriented with strong organizational, writing, proofreading, and editing skills with solid analytical, evaluative, and research skills.
Ability to work well in a time-sensitive, customer-service centered office.
Advanced skills in the use of spreadsheets, including pivot tables.
Experience working in an administrative office in an academic setting.
Experience with CUNYfirst or PeopleSoft is preferred.

Supports projects, initiatives, and activities that impact an academic or administrative department.
Manages basic office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information.
Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections.
Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities.
Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing.
Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.
May supervise office staff and student workers.
Performs related duties as assigned.
