The Administrative Specialist for Data Analysis and Assessment reports to the Marxe Associate Dean. Additional duties include:

  • Provides staff support for the Office of Academic Programs and the Marxe Learning Assessment Committee.

  • Coordinates the assessment of all current degree programs, including the Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs, Master of Public Administration, Master of International Affairs, Master of Science in Education, and any new programs that may be delivered by the School.

  • Liaises with the office of the Assistant Provost for Assessment, Accreditation, and Institutional Effectiveness.

  • Assists with implementation of methods and participates in the collection and analysis of assessment data.

  • Compiles and maintains data for assessment and accreditation reports.

  • Assists with faculty and/or student focus groups when necessary.

  • Undertakes analyses of student records using CUNYfirst queries.

  • Utilizes virtual and other methods to assess student learning.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and prepares results in a variety of formats for the Dean, Associate Dean, and faculty to improve programs and initiatives to improve retention and academic enrichment of undergraduate and graduate students.

  • Analyzes and reports results related to enrollment management, student outcomes and strategic planning to inform the Dean, the Associate Dean, and other stakeholders.

  • Responds to ad hoc requests for information


Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.


Provides administrative and program support to an administrative or academic department.

  • Oversees department operations and assists management in planning department activities, creating schedules, assigning staff and preparing and delivering department communications.

  • Works with appropriate offices related to personnel recruitment, expediting search activities

  • Research coordinates and organizes materials for key events such as promotion and tenure reviews.

  • Supervises and trains support staff and student workers.

  • Manages budget and coordinates purchasing, accounting, and payroll.

  • Provides instructions and basic advice to students, faculty, and others seeking information on department activities, policies, and schedules.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
