POSITION DETAILS

This position reports to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview duties, the Assistant Director duties include but are not limited to:

  • The supervision and training of the staff in the Transfer Center.

  • Represents and markets Baruch College to potential students at on-campus and off-campus recruitment events.

  • Takes an active role in the planning and implementation of recruiting strategies for the College.

  • Supervises the application review process.

  • Collaborates with the Office of Orientation and New Programs, the Office of Testing and Evaluation, the Center for Academic Advisement and the Registrar's Office to ensure a smooth transition for admitted students to a registered Baruch students.

  • Works with the Associate Director and the Central CUNYfirst production team on maintaining the Transfer Credit automated systems.

  • Responsible for entering and maintaining equivalency rules in the CUNYfirst transfer credit evaluation system.

  • Works with the transfer evaluation team to implement business practices and work flows to improve the transfer credit process.

  • Completes transfer evaluations.

  • Work with the Registrar's Office to resolve Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) Integration issues with the various CUNY systems (Degree Works & FACTS).

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.

Driver's License strongly preferred.

Supervises activities in an operational unit supporting Admissions and/or Enrollment.

  • Oversees staff activities; plans and monitors employee scheduling and coverage and coordinates training

  • Serves as liaison to one or more departments providing student support services, such as Financial Aid

  • Coordinates selection process activities such as applications review, verification of information, and timely forwarding of data to other CUNY areas

  • Coordinates mailings and other communications

  • Monitors activity and reports on both transactions and outcomes

  • Completes projects to improve services and enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$47,340 - $51, 195; salary commensurate with education and experience.

*Pursuant to the New York City Health Benefits Summary Program Description, all City of New York employees, and employees of Participating Employers, hired on or after July 1, 2019, will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan, and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first 365 days of employment.

After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365 day period. If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
