The Stan Ross Department of Accountancy at Baruch College of the City University of New York invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured professor position (open rank), with an appointment date of fall of 2020.

We are seeking applications in all areas of accounting, including financial and managerial accounting, taxation, auditing (internal and external) and accounting information systems.

Faculty perform teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise and share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.


Applicants for senior positions should have a completed Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent, a record of excellent scholarship, and demonstrated teaching effectiveness. Exceptional records will be considered for the Irwin and Arlene Ettinger Chair in Accountancy or for the Neuberger Berman/Zicklin Family Chair in Data and Analytics in Accounting. Applicants for junior positions must be at or near completion of a Ph.D. prior to the appointment date and exhibit strong potential for and commitment to high quality research and teaching. Preference will be given to applicants with experience or interest in online/hybrid teaching. The ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution is also required.

After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365 day period. If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
