The Ph.D. Program in Educational Psychology at the CUNY Graduate Center (GC) seeks a tenure-track or tenured faculty member in quantitative methods, broadly conceived as including statistics, measurement, and research design. The position is open-rank and could start as early as Fall 2022.
We seek an exceptional scholar with a Ph.D. in psychology, education, statistics, or a cognate field. Knowledge of at least some of the following areas is required: missing data, causal inference, statistical learning, large-scale testing, research design, quantitative policy research, Bayesian statistics, causal inference for observational data. Additionally, candidates should have skill in at least some of the areas currently covered in the program’s curriculum, including multilevel models, categorical data, structural equation models, modern regression/prediction methods. The incumbent will teach graduate level courses in some of these areas and should already have a record of successful teaching experience. They will also actively mentor graduate students across multiple research topics.
The successful candidate will have an active research program and history/potential for effective extramural grant-seeking in one of these quantitative areas, commensurate with rank. In addition to pursuing their own research interests, the incumbent will have opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. Although the candidate’s research area is open, research invested in public facing scholarship is consistent with the institution’s commitment to excellence and inclusion.
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law.
Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and work in the office. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to their campus (or office).
For Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor:
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Salary will depend on faculty rank, qualifications and experience.
