GENERAL DUTIES
Develops and implements programming, services, and learning opportunities for students, promoting the personal development of a diverse student population.
Administers one or more student affairs programs, providing program management, assistance with policy development, supervision and training of all professional and support staff, budget monitoring, and report preparation
Serves as a resource to student groups and/or populations as a consultant and advocate for their concerns
Researches and stays current on higher education programs, trends, and issues with student impact
Produces workshops and materials to support student programs; manages on-line communities; develops on-line social networking activities, and develops and maintains multimedia content on program web sites
Performs related duties as assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Assistant Director of Student Life will report to the Director of Student Life at the City College of New York. The Assistant Director will plan and implement the administration of the Office of Student Life's leadership education and diversity program. Additional responsibilities include the planning and management of student engagement programs events and receptions.
In addition to the duties above, this position will:
Support the supervision of activities, staff, and programs of the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development
Create and facilitate student leadership development opportunities
Provide support to the Director of Student Life in planning, developing and implementing the annual Summer Student Leadership Retreat as well as conferences, seminars, and workshops for clubs and organizations
Manage the CUNYfirst Student Engagement Team
Supervise Graduate Student spaces and serve as the Graduate Student Council Advisor
Maintain departmental budget which includes non-tax levy and tax levy accounts
Work with and provide on-going guidance and advice to registered student organizations and their faculty advisors pertaining to college rules and regulations
Manage and process all event applications for on-campus and off-campus activities of student organizations
Serve as on-site administrator for all student-sponsored programs including after-hours events when necessary
Liaison between student organizations and college departments that support student events
Collaborate and develop new programs with various departments in the college to promote student involvement as well as facilitating the expansion of the skills, knowledge, and values necessary to become effective leaders
May act in the absence of the Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
COMPENSATION
Salary Range: $56,447-$70,238. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
